Castlebar Credit Union

The Board of Directors have the control, direction, and management of the affairs, funds and records of the credit union. Included in this is the right to fix from time to time the maximum number of shares, which may be held by members. Other duties include:

Making decisions on applications for membership
Setting interest rates charged on loans and paid to members
Determining the maximum loan which may be secured to a member
The Supervisory Committee ensure that the members’ interests are looked after in all the different operations within the Credit Union. They monitor loan applications, new members, and the general expenditure of the Board of Directors. All findings of the Supervisory Committee are brought to the attention of the Board of Directors.

The Educational Committee are engaged in the promotion of the Credit Union to the general public They organise events such as the National Poster Competition, swimming galas, the National & Secondary School Quizzes and our annual bowling competition open to all who are savers or borrowers through our many salary deduction schemes.
